A Government planning inspector has given the go-ahead to developers to build a new car park at Leeds-Bradford Airport following a planning appeal.
The Learmonth Property Investment Company has been granted permission for a 643 space 24 hour car park at the airport.
Leeds Bradford International Airport has recently introduce free parking for up to an hour in two of its long stay car parks but has at the same time introduced a £2 fee for people using the pick-up and drop-off area at the front of the main terminal building.
Previously drivers could enter the pick-up and drop-off area and remain there for up to ten minutes free of charge or pay £4 for 30 minutes but now any vehicle picking up or dropping off passengers in this area will be charged £2 and an automatic number plate recognition system is in use with drivers being asked to pay as they leave.
